The process of framing a Thangka in a traditional Tibetan manner, constructed of stunning silk fabric with vibrant colours and designs.This traditional Brocade frame comes with a Light silk veil that can be used to cover the thangka when it is not in use. It is a traditional method for protecting thangka from damaging is by covering them in silk brocade.The silk garments protects the Thangka's edges whilst also making it easy to hang. A thin silk cover protects the picture when rolled and may be gathered to display it when hanging on the wall. It is widely assumed that silk brocade makes a Thangka more appealing and sacred.
In the traditional technique to the thangka brocade, the upper area is around half the height of the lower section. Two inner cords (usually red and yellow, representing a rainbow) are utilised around the main thangka, and their width is roughly half that of the outer sides. Stitching is done just adjacent to the inner side of the cords using white ornamental thread. On the outermost side, the red ornamental cord is used to stitch the entire brocade.The front veil is a solid yellow color . There are two red ribbons hanging from the top (the lower end tapers and points).An additional rectangle with motifs or a coloured pattern might be placed in the centre of the bottom base. It is generally beneficial to use four colours in brocade for expanding, pacifying, magnetising, and conquering.
